Free Workshops for Schools!!

Would you like to learn more about saving water
in your school and at home?

We are now offering FREE visits by our Education Ranger into schools, looking at how much water we use for different activities, how much we waste and how to be more water wise.

The workshops will cover a range of practical
and fun activities looking at water use.

They are suitable for Key Stage 2 pupils and last for around two hours.

Please contact Fiona Wase on 01597 810390 or by email at fiona.wase@dwrcymru.com
for more information or to book a workshop.

If your school has never visited the Elan Valley before, you may be eligible to claim towards the transport costs associated with your trip!

Please ask the Environmental Education Ranger for more information.

The Elan Estate in Powys, mid Wales is jointly administered by Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water and the Elan Valley Trust, with the education programme supported by the Countryside Council for Wales. The Estate comprises over 70 square miles of spectacular scenery, including moorland, woodland, rivers and six dams with their associated reservoirs.

There is also a large Visitor Centre, which has an exhibition hall showing the natural history of the Estate and its management, the water scheme, the building of the dams and hydro-electric power. There is an audiovisual display about the Elan Valley, information desk and  gift shop as well as a café and toilets.

All of these facilities are open ALL YEAR for pre-booked educational groups, and we have a full-time Environmental Education Ranger to lead the visits, with assistance from other Ranger staff if necessary.

We are happy to arrange the visit/s around the activities and topics shown on the education programmes page. If you would like to develop your own programme for a school trip or study group, we would be pleased to offer our assistance and facilities.

There are no charges for educational visits.
