Join artist Lee Mackenzie for a poetry mapping workshop. You are invited to CARAD to look at maps of the Elan Valley and Rhayader, new and old, and reflect on your history and relationship with the landscape. You can then develop these reflections and ideas by drawing, writing or embroidering on maps. These routes and their discussion would cover the social history of the Elan area, the need for a sense of placement, and the effects of change over time.

Following these workshops and with the participant’s consent, Lee would then incorporate some of these creative responses within the poetry map of the Elan Valley aqueduct. These would be fully referenced.
