Earlier this month Hsin and Hazel from the peat team were joined by enthusiastic students from Black Mountain College for a windy day on the bog!

Together they learnt about peat, it’s importance and how and why we restore it here in the Elan Valley. They talked sphagnum mosses, experienced Molinia walking and dipped pools to reveal larvae and invertebrates! The group was even lucky enough to see a pair of snipe enjoying the banquet of bog bugs!

Thanks to Black Mountain College for their enthusiasm and eagerness to learn!
